Yes all of our courses are approved by the State of California and have a course approval number.
There is a test for all the basic education courses. There is no test for continuing education.
At the completion of all your required courses, it will be necessary to take and pass the state exam. Upon successfully passing the state exam, it will be necessary to work as a trainee under the direct supervision of a certified appraiser for about 2 1/2 years. This internship is the most important training you need to have.
There are benefits to both types of courses. The online course provides required education when it is not possible to get to a classroom. It is also possible to study at any hour. The classroom setting allows for questions and interaction with the instructor and fellow students.
The State of California requires 14 hours per year of continuing education and this includes 7 hours per year of USPAP and 4 hours of state regulations. Every 2 years the license must be renewed and every 4 years the education must be satisfied.
In some cases the certificate is provided the day of completion when possible. In most cases, the certificate will be mailed to you within 5 to 7 working days of the course completion.
